Picture of the Month, January 2000  On the picture is Oslo Sporveier's rebuilt Union tramcar no. 55, ex. Kristiania Elektriske Sporvei's Union tramcar no. 327, at Skillebekk, on its way to Sinsen. Ten of the Blue Tram's 19 Union tramcars were rebuilt with new platforms and new trucks, similar to the Siemens Schuckert (SS) tramcars, in 1918. Car no. 327 was one of these 10, and was used on Lilleakerbanen (the Lilleaker line) between 1919 and 1924. Car no. 55 was scrapped around 1967. Photo: LTF Archive. |
