Bærumsbanen's cars no. 401 and 402 were obtained during the war years 1943 and 1944 for Kolsåsbanen. The cars were rebuilt at Skabo from old A class motorcars. Those were cut lengthwise, and the body was expanded. The rebuilt cars got the term D class cars and the nickname Jeep.

Car no. 401 on the picture above was rebuilt from A class car no. 30. It was put into service on August 1st, 1943, and got the class D1. No. 401 was scrapped in 1982.

Car no. 402 was rebuilt from A class car no. 30. It was put into service on March 15th, 1944, and got the class D2. No. 402 had its last operating day on March 15th, 1981. The day after it was picked clean for parts, and the motors were transferred to C2 class car no. 407.
