Picture of the Month, June 2001 ![]() Bærumsbanen built nine C class cars, no. 403-411, at their own workshop from 1949 to 1966. The series that became the C2 class, had central platform and stuffed cross seats with reversible backs. The body was made of steel. Many spare parts were taken from discarded A class tramcars to built the C2 class cars, but the amount of A class tramcar parts was reduced over time. The cars were 17 metres long, 3,13 metres wide, weighted 30400 kilogrammes and had a motor effect on 4x 55 kW. The cars had 72 seats and space for 88 people standing. On the picture above is no. 411 at Majorstuen. The car was put into service in September 1966. It was discarded on August 16th, 1933 and scrapped on May 11th, 1994.
