Picture of the Month, March 2002  In 1902, Falkenried delivered three trailers, no. 158-160, of "hatbox" type to Kristiania elektriske Sporvei (the Blue tram). The cars were 6.6 metres long, 2.0 metres wide, weighted 5.1 kilotons, and the axle distance was 1.6 metres. There were 16 seats and space for 18 people standing. In 1924 the cars were renumbered 403-405, and they were discarded in 1932-35. On the picture above is trailer no. 158 at Majorstuen. In the background is Holmenkolbanen's bogie cars. The picture is probably taken in the beginning of the 20's, before the cars were renumbered in 1924. Photo: LTF Archive. |
